I have been lurking on the samba over the last few months as I have gone from quiet Buggy fan to hardworking buggy fanatic.
I decided that I couldn't continue paying the high cost of SoCal gas in my lifted jeep and wanted something else interesting to drive.
After settling on a buggy, I managed to find one for 800 bucks here in SoCal.
After 300-400 hours and about $4K in parts, tools, and supplies, here it is.
This would have been impossible without a great many questions answered by many of you here on this forum. (Well what I mean is...) Although I never asked a single question, I found every detail necessary to go from knowing nothing to cruising around the streets with the kids.
Still left to do...
Upholstery.
Mirrors.
New wheels and tires. (I am using 14" covers until my slotted mags come in.)
(Seat belts went in right after these pictures, and the front roll bar is now connected to the back in case you are wondering.)
Polishing and shining.
Here are some before and afters.
Hope to see you all on the road. Thanks again for all the help you didn't even know you gave.

| Great job, I was into the whole 4-wheeling thing too, way expensive. I too am a lurker for the most part. You can find EVERYTHING you need on the buggy boards. |

Same thing I was thinking.
Does it look like this under the left front/driver's fender?

You're in SoCal. To authenticate it as a Meyers Manx, take a drive down to Valley Center and visit Bruce Meyers.

I may do that just yet.
Still have to finish tidying up a few details to be ready.
It is a little un-nerving though. He is kind of the father of all things buggy y'know. |
