Okay guys got a couple questions for ya,

Exactly what years did the beetle have cast iron pedals? From what I can tell it would seem that they went up until 1966, but I'm not very sure. Anyone know? And secondly, are the cast iron pedal assemblies interchangable with the later style assemblies?

23 August 1966 vw went to stamped metal instead of cast.

Great thanks for the info! So does anybody know if the earlier cast iron pedal assembly will fit onto a later bug that originally had a stamped steel pedal assembly?

yes ,but the stamped ones have the pedal for gas built in instead of welded hinge on floor. you can use the cast iron pedals in the housing that uses stamped ones.
