| i have 1973 super beetle engine in a 1964 baja that was converted to 12 volt. i have one wire coming from D+ to the regulator then i have on the other side of the regulator is one wire going to ignition and one going to starter solenoid. then from solenoid i have it going to positive side of battery. also i have a wire going from DF to the regulater then to the idiot light. so why can't i get any sort of charge? |

| regulator shot, generator fried. Have you checked for current out of the generator? If current is coming out, check regulator. If no current at regulator, there's the problem. |

Yes, they do! Choose any '67-'72 diagram and it will show a separate gen and reg, like your system probably has, since it's 12V. |

| Also check that you are looking at the Bug pages. The default link from the main "wiring" link is for the Type 2. |
