OK,I searched but I found nothing. Maybe this has been covered already. I'll start with a little history.......
This weekend my friend wanted to buy a car from another friend of mine so we blasted up to Portland OR. out of Santa Cruz Ca..I left Watsonville at 12:30 Friday night,(technicallySaturday morning) and my friend and I left San Jose Ca. at 2:00 am.We drove straight through to Portland, bought the car and headed home.On the way we saw this:

Wish I could have stopped and talked to him. Passed him twice,(since I exited for fuel),he looked happy cruisin' Ca.

So anybody else seen him or know who he is? I saw him at the CA./OR. Border around 9:00am on the 24th (of August 2008)

Sorry for the cracked windshield shot...........

Dude,

It's probably just some German dude who shipped his panel-vanagon over for a summer vacation. Lot's of Euros do it and they keep their plates since it's done at the federal level. When the trip is over they ship the van/truck/car/motorcycle back. A friend of mine just did the same but in reverse. He took his motorcyle over to Euroland and toured around. He's since returned and the bike is on a boat coming back in a week or so.

Yeah,I know "folks" do it,just thought it was cool to see it cruisin' the west coast on vacation.Guess it's just another German Vanagon-Panel,rollin' down the I5. I forgot they were so common, all Germans do that. :roll:I'll go away,......again
