Does anyone make AM and FM radio's that keep the original look. How hard would it be to add AM to a radio.

If you are running 12 volt, check local junk yards or ebay for the Sapphire AM/FM radios that originally came in those VWs...

Where can you find new knobs for those AM Sapphire radios. There cool looking but most of the ivory knobs are worn out.

Wolfsburg West sells knobs but they are not a perfect match to original Sapphire knobs

The shape is a little bit off. The WW ones are a little too "triangular" beneath the ridges. Also the ridges were not originally of equal step height as the WW ones seem to be. And the most obvious difference is the way it mounts; originals did not use set screws. I think they just modify their repop dash knobs and sell them as radio knobs.

Original (Ivory is correct for early Sapphire I used '60-'61):

some radios (older blaupunkts for example) did use these kind of knos with the screws. sapphire did not. it would appear that currently the only available repop is the screw style.
