Stainless side molding
-ISP WEST
front and back bracket covers
-originals
all dash knobs and window crack knobs and washers
-if you want the original plastic style, use the Brezelwerk knobs
-if you want aluminum ones that you can powdercoat, use Mike's at HoG
driver side outside mirror
-NOS or find a good used one and have it restored
door latches ( the ones that mount on the body )
-I believe that Mike at HoG also has these made by John Copello. The repro's are aluminum and can be powdercoated. I guess it depends on how original you're doing your convertible. I really like the aluminum ones myself. I'm sure they will out-last the original bakelite style striker plates.
license light lens
-NOS or good used Hellas. I think Vince(Ghiaddict) had some nice original ones for sale. Also, contact Mike at HoG he might have some good used ones for sale.
front turn signal lens ( what color are they suppose to be ) orange or see through
-It sounds like you will be doing your convertible the American style with the sealed beams?? If so, the front turnsignals should be clear plastic for the 1958 style bulb holder. The glass lenses would have been used for the 1959-1964 style bulb holder.
KGPR has really nice clear plastic Hella reproductions that I used on my 1958 convertible. I believe these are made in Germany and have the correct "Hella" stamping.
headlight bulbs (12v)
-KGPR
-I think most Auto stores would have these since you're looking for the 12 volt style, but the won't be marked "VW".
All rubber for car doors, windows, bumpers, trunk, engine compartment, top frame, Everything.
-KGPR
-HoG
-Lars
-I guess it depends on how soon you need these parts, but all of the above are really good sources for Karmann Ghia parts. |
