Yeah, I know, cheap muffler, anyway, after tightening up everything the muffler touches the bottom of the apron. I loosened and tried to adjust but no luck. Will this cause some problems or is it pretty typical? Thanks

It will probably heat up and cause discoloration to the rear apron, and it may rattle like heck.

It may/may not be your muffler, but rather your header that it's bolted to. How did your previous muffler clear on the header???? You don't want it the way it is now. Your muffler is going to occiltate with your engine reving and bang up on the apron, eventually poking holes in the muffler, ruining you apron and all kinds of rattling banging noises. You should have more clearence.

The PO had a hideaway setup that was in poor shape. I guess I will need to see if the header can be adjusted downwards if thats possible to gain more clearance.

Take it to a local muffler shop & have them rebend the mandrel on either the muffler or header for more clearance. Those mass-produced exhaust systems always have clearance/mounting problems

You're going to heat that rear apron up big time to the point the paint is going to bubble. Trust me, I speak from experience.
