Does anyone have experience replacing the lock on a 66 vent window? I know I need to drill out the rivet on top, but then what? Any and all comments welcome.

You'll need to remove the glass from the vent wing frame. Then re-rivet the new lock. Replace the glass

Understood, but how do you get the glass out?

got mine out by using a propane torch and melting the rubber. I'm sure that's not the proper way but it wouldn't come out any other way and it worked . . .

I know the vent wings are slightly different on a '64, but my glass just slid out with the crusty old rubber.
Don't you have to press the glass back into the frame if you use new rubber? |
