Hey Guys,
I am currently trying to make my rear drum brakes on my 66 Bug, back to original. It had a 4 lug wheel/braking system on it and i want it back to the original wide 5 setup. I have the drums, and the hardware and new shoes but cant find a set of backing plates for the rear. Any help on where I can find a set would be awesome. Im new to bugs, so im learning as I go. I think the 66 has different backing plates then other years, if im wrong someone please correct me. Can I use backing plates off of other years or models of VW? Any help would be awesome. |

| I think they are the same. I've put wide five drums on later backing plates. Lot easier to adjust the brakes, too. |

use your 4 lug wheel bearing in 66 or 67 front drums. use thing rear drums on your 4 lug rear brakes(everything 4 lug except the drums) |

So is this how you put 5 lug drums on a 4 lug car? I've always wondered about that |
