View original topic: throw out bearing problems!!

I have an early stlye trans (without the 3 studs for the shaft for the late style throw out bearing). The arm is cupped for the early style throw out bearing.

I know that I need the early style throw out bearing, and have one.

The problem is the clips!!! My arm is for early style bearing, but has two holes in it instead the the normal "notches" to hold the clips that hold the bearing in.

I have both heavy duty and the hog ring type clips, but neither get tight if I put the back side into the hole in the arm.

What do I need??

I've seen all the old threads, they don't have my problem.

Does the stock early arm have notches or holes behind the curved area that holds the bearing??

I think my arm has been upgraded to a early style heavy duty arm, it has holes. The problem is that the clips aren't tight when installed.

Safety wire them in place
