Ok, so I've got a 71 Fasty and I can't seem to get fuel to the carbs for the life of me. I just put in a new fuel pump from Mid-America and all new fuel lines and I couldn't get fuel to it so I decided to test it by holding my finger over the port on the fuel pump and it won't create suction at all? Any ideas?

The fuel pump can be activated outside of the car. Take it off and use your finger to push up the rocker unit on the bottom. Put some cab clenner in the intake pipe and push away, it shoud come flying out the output side. If not you may have a bad pump.

I also agree with first response, start at the tank, your screen may be plugged, or a line crimped.

NOTE:
I have seen others threads indicate the newer fuel pumps are opposite (sp) of the old one, in that the intake is on top and the output on the bottom, or vice versa.

good luck. Bezzer, AKA Alan
