I've replaced the transmission and all the fuel lines and have discovered that the high pressure power steering line is leaking. The leaking line is the short one that connects the power steering pump to the steel tube that leads to the steering rack. I've found someone on-line who rebuilds these lines, but I'm looking for a bit of a stop gap (band aid) while I save up a bit of cash (and some grace from the wife as she's had to put up with the van eating up cash reserves just after we bought it).
So, the question is; will Power Steering Leak Stop screw up my power steering lines? I would not like to put on a band-aid that will end up hurting me later. I'd prefer to just unhook the power steering belt and work on my triceps. |

who was it and can you post it here?
Mine was weaping, so I wrapped it in self-healing mastic electric tape made by scotch it worked like a charm and now has over 10k miles on the fix
make sure to change the filter, in the power steering reservoir, the black top unscrews, it cost $13 from the dealer |

Here's the website:

I e-mailed and got back a pretty quick response.
I like the idea of a cheap external fix that'll get me a few thousand miles. Where do you get self healing mastic electrical tape? |

| I got it a electrical supply house in town, it's grey, 3/4" inch wide and made by scotch, I threw the box away that had the part # on it |
