My husband and I are now in Fishkill, NY, now on our way home. I thought I’d take a few minutes and leave some feedback for 57zwitter? and my experience.

Here's the link to the ad: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=650297

I chose his classified for no other reason than it listed a 1979 Super for sale. The ad was very descriptive saying it was the original Florida Blue, it had had a body-off restoration, and lots and lots of other work making it very structurally sound. I was very interested in finding a ’79 light blue or baby blue super convertible with a white top. And I was not exactly sure which “blue” Florida Blue was and decided to request the photos. I think I may have made my request the same day it was posted by 57zwitter?. So I emailed a request for the photos.

When I opened the reply email with the photos, I was floored. It was “the” bug I was looking for – that I had been looking for since I first saw her on the showroom floor in either late 1978 or ’79. And if the description in the ad was accurate, I would soon be making a trip to Boston. After several emails flying back and forth between me and 57zwitter?, a lot of questions and thought and support from my husband. I decided to “go find my dream car” it was in Boston!

I was floored once again when we pulled up in front of the house and saw her sitting in the driveway. We had a wonderful meeting with 57zwitter? and the bug. After going over the car from stem to stern, top to bottom, and learning all the little nuances of the little bug, I bought my little dream car.

So she is now on a car hauler behind our pickup truck taking a ride to her new home in Corryton, Tennessee. I think she’ll enjoy it there, very mild winters, the Great Smoky Mountains to roam through, local VW clubs, and a nice cozy garage to sit on rainy or snowy days.

Thank you 57zwitter? for your honesty and accuracy in wording your classified ad. She was exactly as you said she was in the ad and in our phone conversations. Thank you for your phone conversations, for sharing your time in all the emails answering my questions. It was a delight meeting you and your family today.

I still have a big grin on my face!

Hi Brian, I have some photos of my baby! I haven't quite figured out how to do this photo attacment thing yet, so here's a link to my Photobucket.com gallery.

Some of these photos were some that were sent to me initially, Super 01 and 02 I took with my cell phone camera the day I "met" her. The photo of her on the trailer was taken at a rest stop to check the straps with my real camera!

Hope you enjoy.

VWs ARE awsome!
