So Charles manson and his cult use to steal VW bugs and convert them to dune buggies.

I've always wondered, how many people if any own these buggies?? Wouldnt it be pretty nuts to buy an old rusty baja bug only to find it was original built buy a murderous maniac??

Manson building dune buggies??? Doubt it. Was he a thief who could steal a VW and cut it up like he did his victims, probably. You are giving him more credit for having talent than he deserves. Maybe you should check with Bruce Meyers to see if he sold Manson any bodies(er uh, I mean fiberglass bodies!!!

Maybe you should check with Bruce Meyers to see if he sold Manson any bodies(er uh, I mean fiberglass bodies!!! when arrested for the murders he was actually in jail for auto theft at the time(or so i'm told)

I don't remember Manson having actually cut/killed anyone. As far as talent, well I don't think just anybody could talk a group of people into murdering innocent victims. I'd say that takes some sort of talent.

when I was stationed out in the high desert in cali me and some friends went out to the old Manson ranch for a day. I actually found a 6v generator and a fuel pump out there.

that was 23 years ago, I still have the fuel pump.

But they wern't just ordinary people. That group of bitches was maybe more sicko to begin with than he was.
I remember the news casts and police reports slowly making their discoveries and putting 2 and 2 together. Needless to say, the whole city was really in shock.

One of the strangest things about the whole ordeal was much later with Sharon Tates husband. Getting caught nailing a 13 year old and fleeing the country to avoid prosecution.

living here in the high desert ive heard alot about this. manson created a chop shop for volkswagens called the "Devils Dune Buggy Shop" so he could create "vehicles of the apocalypse" to get to his hideout he arranged in Death Valley when all hell broke loose from the Hineman-Tate-Labianca murders. he tought it would bring a war against the blacks and whites that would bring about apocalypse some how. he called it "Helter Skelter." i have never known anyone who ever found one or ever had one though.

i may be mistaken but i know many of the buildings and stuff are still out there and believe that some of the cars, among other things, are also still out there.
