Why do my calipers off a '72 Ghia say BMW on them?

| Wow thats cool. They also say ATE on them. They look like ghia calipers. My guess is they either make them for bolth car companies, or some type of manufacture's code. Sure seems to say BMW. I'm sure someone will chime in who knows. |

| Somewhere in the past 1/2 year I recall reading that BMW's 320i (~'77 thru '83) had calipers that bolt onto the Ghia and Type 3. They were slightly larger than VW's. Although the ones you show look just like typcial Ghia calipers, there may be a slight difference in the piston size. |
