This has probably been asked in the past, but here goes again.
I need to find an interior rear view mirror for a 72 Ghia Vert.
I found a replacement but it has a slighlty longer "neck"
which moves the mirror itself about 1/2" away from the glass.
Would this still work or would it interfere with the top frame or something?
I dont have a top frame installed so I couldnt tell. Thanks ! |

If you are using the original mounting point for the
interior mirror, I don't see how there would be any
problem with interference with the top frame.
It's a little unclear, however, exactly how the mirror you found
measures differently than a stock part for 1972. :-k |

| I wouldnt think there would be any problems using it, but not sure why there would be 2 different lengths. The stalk on both mirrors which the light is integrated into has the same downward length, but as it curves to the mirror it is shorter on one. I will post a photo to help describe the differences. I checked a catalog and it doesnt appear to be a difference for either a bug or Ghia vert. The only other thing is maybe one of them was for a "Thing" where the front windshield folds down? |
