The tranny in my girlfriend's 67 micro (bug/conversion swing axle) had started popping out of 4th gear after two years and 17,000 miles. (reported here previously) I had my spare tranny installed and then took the failed one back to Rancho. Much to my surprise they fixed it for free. The Rancho guy, Sam, said that they wanted to "make it right for us". I am much more accustomed to the Berg warranty: "Guaranteed to work until it doesn't".
This was my first visit to Rancho's new larger facility on Elm Street in Fullerton. Quite impressive. |
