I'll tryto get down there. At noon for a short while. Evidently you would prefer a bus versus a bug. -Try-
Is this the event that had a difficult time last year with the VW community? Where a lot of them commited to going and then didn't show up? Hope it's much better this year. It's a good cause in promoting responsible driving from teens behind the wheel. |

Evidently the benefit tournament went well. Lots of people. Never been or ever wanted to attend a golf tourney. It's all strange stuff. Dozens and dozens of golf carts lined up ready to get with it. Reminded me of NASCAR waiting for the famous "gentlemen, start your engines".
Krystal evidently was quite a bus fan. Wanting to get one when she got her license. Her dad said whenever they were on a trip and she saw a bus she would try to get a picture. There was a display board with many bus pictures she had taken. Along with other bus memorabilia. Sadly the girl's lives ended while in a new Beetle. I hope this benefit tournament will aid the family and others in actions that will be of help to young drivers.
Today was the day most bus people were preparing for the trip next week to the Jerome Jamboree. So this benefit tournament had a real conflict with the bus crowd. There might be well over a hundred locally but only mine and a Westy Vanagon showed up. Plus a couple bugs. The Vanagon was parked way off in the distance at one of the far holes. They parked mine on display right next to the putting green. And they gave assurance that my windows wouldn't get knocked out with stray golf balls. Kind of interesting that the young attendent that was was to position it had moved from SoCal and had not brought his T-4 bus with him to AZ. So I let him drive and park mine.
Mike Grady was there and today is his last day in AZ. Moving to PA. Had allready shipped his fine VW Thing. PA folks are going to gain a real great VW entheusiast.
