i know your stuck on making these and it looks like your committed, but your going to end up with a heavy front end man.
ya i know i said i wanted a heaver front end to cominsate for the heaver rear end... i mean im not going to run a gas tank up front so theres a lot of weight lossed plus the stock bulk head and beam weigh 20+lbs not to mention the arms and spindles so i need to add a little weight up there so i dont launch nose high.. but dont get me wrong i do like to work with tube, if i wasnt doing the arms as long as they are id do tube i just think with all the lateral loads that the arms are going to see that the center of the arms would be a weak point. and mock ups ive done in the past just looked kinda funny with the super long tubes..and with boxed i have more of a flat surface for the bump stops to beat against
i guess you have never heard of the theory of un-sprung weight have you? trust me tubular arms that length would not be weak if built correctly. |

I think the arms are sweet. The fabrication part of this sport is all about doing something difrent or out of the box (IMHO). You build those arms and matching trailing arms for the back and show us how well they work. I love it when people tell me I cant do this or that. i just do it anyway because I am the only one who pays the piper if it doesent work. I always listen to other peoples opinion and take there head But build what YOU want.
Cant wait to see them on powercoat. If they are to heavy for that then you will know how to build them for your truck or rail. Or you could put an LS in your Baja. |

| I'd have to wonder if they would crumple when hitting a rock. And yes, you will eventually. |

yeah that would be a good idea, matching arms for the back, a large big block V-8 power plant with a mendi transmission, and a full tube chassis.
to bad thats not whats happening here. |

well heres a small update i got the upper and lower tacked together and now there ready to get tig welded... still need a lil bit more bracing in the lower and a tiny bit in the upper but i got to weld the joints first before i can add any more... (note the tubes will not stay there except the ones on the spindle end) but they will be getting boxed and fully trussed
