Great show. Perfect weather all weekend.

There may have been less swappers? I scored some nice parts for my Buses though. A couple other people told me they found some parts they needed too.

Thinking about parts, someone had a decent and complete set of Safaris for $1300, one frame was NOS with NOS rubber. Not sure what they sold for but they were gone later in the day. I saw an NOS Deluxe clock for $800(!). Saw NOS link pins, a bunch of pedal pans, lots of bumpers, lots of small trinkets.

I saw one '67 Bus sell at the show. There was a nice Single Cab there in the high 9s, not sure if it sold or not.

I barely took any photos because I talking to so many people but here are some photos in the Gallery

There was a guy at the OCTO show who purchased all my Hot VWs magazines and never picked them up. If you are that guy P.M. me and let me know if you want the magazines shipped or what you want done with them.

Here's a link to some pictures that I took:

Cool times and many old friends that I have not seen in many years stopped by to say "hello, we thought you might have been dead...."! LOL

I scored some nice NOS parts for one of my buses as well :D

If you are referring to my stock 56 Dove Blue single cab, it did not sell because I parked it when I arrived, put up the sign and walked away to hang in the swaps all day. Future note to self, hang around and answer questions if you want to wheel and deal...

Its still for local sale except its now in the low 9's and negotiable. Maybe Pomona or Irwindale it will find a good home.

All in all, another great OCTO !!!

OCTO was great, as some stated there were a lot of good parts at good prices for a change. I found lots of trinkets I needed.
Weather was great, people were awesome, always good seeing old friends there and a shit load of nice buses.

gerg Tue Oct 14, 2008 12:58 am

I was a little late showing up. Saw Bill May and Brad. Didn't get to talk much with either, I'll have to make up for that later. Chatted with Stan & Steve briefly, and Ronnie too.

Saw some SBS brethren also - met Ember for the first time also.

Time to pull the tranny out of the SC - Passenger seatbelt working as a shifter lock for 4th gear is just too dam ghetto! LOL

I was digging this bus:

I took a shot of it just to get the number on the sign in case I hit the lotto LOL

Nice SC!

Aiko Tue Oct 14, 2008 5:39 am

No, mine was the 56 dove blue with original gates about 10 buses down from wood gate sc.

pyrOman Tue Oct 14, 2008 7:46 am

Didn't make it! :(

Way bad since I've heard there was a phatchick transaxle for $200 which I could really use for the Plump Truck!

Same issue as Gerg's, 4th just doesn't want to stay put anymore!

Anyway, if said seller reads this and still has the tranny, "Hello!" Or if anyone else has contact info please let me know! :?

Yes, they had a lot of good Bay stuff on the trailer. Wasn't that Koch's? Or he was next to Koch.

A big THANK YOU to everyone for your continued support. Though a little windy, the weather worked in our favor. 8) The swap was a little light but there were still a lot of nice parts. I was even able to sell some of my own stash. :D Haven't done that in a while. The only hiccup we had was at the end when someone thought it would be a good idea to throw their HOT COALS into one of our CARD BOARD trash receptacles. :x The fire was quickly put out by the crew. Unfortunately, however, there will now be a new rule. Other than that it seemed a good time was had by all. Thanks again. We'll see you in February if not sooner. 8)

Skate Tue Oct 14, 2008 11:27 am

If it was Koch he is right up the street from me, if you call and get the trans I'll bring it with me to butterfield.

According to Bill he was not the guy with the "cheap" tranny but it doesn't hurt to ask and whatever you can do will be really appreciated! 8)
