View original topic: Headlight & Turn Signal re-wiring question

Working on my '70, installing the turn signal housing and headlight buckets, wondering how the wires are routed. It's all dissassembled, I'm using a new harness, and I can't recall how this goes back together.

On the TS rubber, there's an accordian type hose in the wheel well out the back of the ass'y. This runs up to back of the headlight bucket? I see two large(r) holes in the bucket.

There are terminals in the bucket, the second hole in the bucket and a hole in the sidewall of the front boot, up over the fresh air duct. So, the wires then go from the bucket to that hole? Is there a similar sleeve or rubber tube that those wires are supposed to go in?

Confused and tired...

The wires from the t/s run through the accordion tube into the headlight bucket hole. The light harness goes through the trunk sidewall and then into the side of the headlight bucket. No tubing or protection for the wires between the sidewall and the bucket. Everything connects together with the clear junction blocks inside the bucket. The small front hole in the bucket is for the drain valve.

Yes you are correct, wires from the trunk, to the headlight and continue on out the other hole in bucket to the turn signal.
My buckets have a grommet for the wire hole that leads to the trunk.

OK got it thanks. The wire loom kit has harnesses (w/outer covers) for the headlight wiring, and grommets for the holes at each end.
