How do I get the antenna off on my 69 sedan?
I can seem to reach it from inside the trunk? |

IIRC you have to remove the fender splash panel before you can get to the aerial , it is held in by a number of bolts/screws (not sure exactly how many) but there is one under the front hood in the top corner (approx below the corner of the windscreen where the wiring is!) which is often missed. Hope this makes sense.

| You have to go at it from the wheel well. Take the wheel off for some room. The panel is held on by two hex head screws in the wheel well and one nut in the trunk (along the top edge across from the antenna). It has alot of waterproofing goo on it at the top, so its a tight, stuck bitch to get out, but very doable. It has a rubber seal that goes against the inner fender, don't mess that up. You can get new ones now (use to, they were hard to get). I put an electric antenna in mine. |

Doesn't this assume a stock original antenna? IIRC on mine it had a replacement with a nut you loosen. Antenna comes off then you loosen the screw underneath that allows the undelying bar to swivel enough to come through the hole.
Is your antenna original? |
