View original topic: Ghia Carpet, anybody got pics???
R.R. Fri Sep 05, 2008 9:10 am

I'm still trying to decide which color carpet to order. My Ghia is all black, black seats, with off white door panels. I'm thinking charcoal (S@P grey) or black. Don't know if black would just be "to much black". Anybody have any pics of there interior that could give me a visual?

Have you tried the gallery? Their was a similar subject months ago and IIRC someone posted some pics in the gallery. I think the carpet was charcoal gray.

Charcoal is the way to fly IMO. My interior is all black with charcoal tweed seat inserts and the charcoal carpet and I love it. I would suggest getting the WCM kit, as it has better grommets, etc. around the shifter and handbrake holes, and makes for a cleaner look.

Charcoal. I have all black and its too much. However, I did not buy the carpet. It was provided by the PO new in the box as part of the sale.

I went through this decision about 8 months ago. It had black and showed way too much dirt. Now I have charcoal and it only shows much dirt. :)

I have more pictures in my gallery.

Pat,
Did you ever think of just the metal dash painted body color? I think that would have set off the interior really nice. But I'm a geezer and not an interior designer.

On the later model ghias you would have some holes to fill if you choose to paint it. I did the vinyl route on my 71 as well.

Yes, that was my original plan. Unfortunately, the body man wanted too much time & money to fill (with metal) all the unneeded holes (as you know there are slots that would not be covered by the pads. They had already had the car for 8 months at that time. I decided to order the black face which is not original to a 71.

I had thought about painting the steering wheel to match. Have you ever seen that done?

If you are married or wear a ring, you will scratch off the paint on a steering wheel.
