What is the thin black strip on late model bumpers made of? It's not the thick rubber impact strip, but a really thin black struip down the center about the size of electrical tape, only stiffer.
Does anyone reproduce this? |

I recently restored my 72' Coupe and had come across the same problem. I bought two boxes of Rubber Mastic Tape (1 in) one box for each bumper. The tape fit perfectly in the grove on each bumper and looks original. The tape sticks nicely to the bumpers and I have had it on through rain and snow with no problems.
