Hey everyone, the wife and I thought we would hit an antique shop in town and see what they had for old VW stuff. Well they had this on the shelf for $60 but we said we would give them $20 and they took it. I have never heard of a car liquor bottle so thought it was kind of cool. Did a little searching online and it looks like it is worth $50 max down to maybe $10, so I don't think we did bad on the price.

I have 2 red ones and 1 blue. the blue one is unopened and still full.

This one has been tapped so it is dry as a bone.

I have the blue one still full. The antique shop cannot sell it full. That would be bootlegging in Iowa.

Notice they are fat chicks. That is why they are not worth much. :twisted:

one of my accounts has a full(i think) blue one. He is asking 100.00 iirc. Its fat so i don't think about it too much.

ive got a gold one with a square 'drink' canister and 4 shot glasses and the whole top folds back. turn the steering wheel and it plays music. dont know where i got it from but its pretty neat. its a 67-under model...

They were issued by Beam to commemorate some special even in VW history. Like the introduction of the fat chick.
The dealers (here in Iowa anyway) got first chance at them and the dealer I worked at, gave each employee one if they wanted it.

i have one thats a dune buggy...............beam collectors generally drain the bottles...over time the whiskey eats away the inside and they start to leak from the inside out ruining the outer glaze....................empty or full..they are worth the same
