The art of the understatement:

This is not in perfect shape and priced accordingly.

Well let me say this about that. You won't have to bathe before going to bed. On the other hand, if he lived 3-4 hundred miles closer I would make him a deal. Seems to have all the parts, metal most importantly. I could still use the old wood for templates and make new ones. HEY BRETT... ya gonna visit S. Fl. soon? :D

Oh; but people here will complain if the price isn't low like in Cali/West Coast where plenty of rust-free Buses are for sale for dirt cheap.

Actually that is kinda nice. I tried to carefully remove mine since a new panel was going on. It messed up in a couple places and ended up scanning it and doing some editing touch ups. The plan was to have the picture printed in a decal or something similar along with all the other interior stickers. Maybe some day.

x2. Thats exactly what I was thinking it would be good for. I don't think that sticker is reproduced by anyone.

I saw that one for sale on Aurora and stopped and talked to the guy last weekend. Lets just say I am not surprised he called it a vanagon.

Stuartzickefoose Fri Mar 12, 2010 3:53 pm

did he even know it was a camper, or a high top for that matter? wonder if he likes old trucks....

kanniff Fri Mar 12, 2010 5:17 pm

Looks pretty straight- I think as long as the engine looks clean - he will probably get asking price.

too bad he doesnt know what to call it ;)

I just went today to check this Bus out for a Samba member in Ohio....I had a feeling there was a reason he didn't include any pics of the front floors that "need work."

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=928367

Here are some pics I took this afternoon after I drove up there. Needs work is an understatement. He tells me how the windshield is broken and it's been leaking and rotted the front floor, when in reality the windshield lip is almost nonexistant and water has been POURING into this thing for Lord know how long. There's actually moss growing on the dash!!

Odd angle for the shifter, wouldn't you say??

ccpalmer Sun Mar 14, 2010 4:08 pm

Ah memories... my first Bus was from Ohio! That's not bad! :D

Isn't that the position of the shifter that turns on the flux capacitor?

Caleb Melvin Sun Mar 14, 2010 4:11 pm

So did you get it for $200? :P

Nahhh I was goin up there to look at it for a member here, I wouldn't try and steal it out from under him. This guy doesn't seem to want to negotiate at all anyway. I was talking to him about it a couple weeks ago and I emailed him and offered him $400 cash as it sits....he never responded.
