That is the problem; good one place is not in others. Fortunately for us the classifieds has categories with specific descriptions for condition:

Yeah they have had both of those for sale for some time. Most of their ads are so overpriced that I think they have simply lost their mind.

2.or that he wants $20 for something that is broken & worthless

they think that if it came off a bay window then it must fit
all 68-79

if that was not bad enough they have a splitt asking price

i would like evertt to add a line for incorrect info to the list for reporting abuse

such as this lic plate light
its not in the wrong catogory & the info is not completly fruadulant

but the ad should be made inactive untill the seller corrects the info

when people buy parts like this on the samba that dont fit their vw
it discredits all vendors here are some examples

These people do not know what they are selling beyond it came off a Bay Window. Most sellers are amenable to being contacted with corrections. Well, at least when I do it but I might be treated differently. :)

We had a big discussion about this a while in relation to a guy buying something where the seller advertised it as fitting more years than was correct. The general opinion was that it was as much the buyer's fault for not knowing what he needed. No excuse though, just a fact of life. You have to protect yourself as a buyer by knowing what you need and not trust the seller's "yeah, it'll work" description.

I'd agree that we see this more over the last year or two. My two cents is that a lot more people are trying to flip baywindow parts to fund other VW inetrests than in the past.

you have to admit though it is a pretty sweet market for bay's right now, they are still cheap enough to acquire easily but not sooo cheap as to be pointless in even dealing with, and it's weird how you can buy a whole bus for far far less then the total sum of parts, i can pick up buses pretty much all day long and just sell the trans and have made all of my money back, anything from there is just profit or money's for other projects.

not that i've done that since last summer, but hey i see it happening all of the time and don;t blame others who decide to do it.

That's sort of the problem. Bays are getting trashed out at a high rate because of lack of care and concern for them. So then they get parted out and a lot of used parts are on the market. It'll bite us all in the a$$ down the line when there arn't any busses left.
