OK IM DONE.

Damn, I don't see what everyone is bitching about. Just from the pictures only and not inspecting it in person, that is the finest looking bus I've seen in a long time. Sure, there are some personal customizations throw in that wouldn't be my preference but on the otherhand it has about the cleanest styling anyone could come up with. I love that front bumper. Obviously that bus wasn't put together to please any purests. Which is great in my opinion. There are a lot of stock original bus items on a original bus that are pretty chincy or time dated.
I might be blind, but I don't see any sign of workmanship that looks like it might not be about the finest of quality. I'm not talking about the choices to remove, add, or modify things, I'm talking about workmanship. It obviously wasn't put together by slop shops. The term restored means all kind of things to different people. Matching numbers, paint codes, original inferior tires, etc. To others it means going thru averything mechanical bringing it back to as good as new condition and upgrading where practical and desirable. And to a lot of people here it means polishing the hubcaps and replacing the fuel pump.
Forget about your personal preference of whether back up lights are good or bad or having different front turn signals. Original purity isn't advertised in this add. What is shown looks to be perfect for what it is. If the rest that we cant see is of this standard this might well be a baragin bus in my opinion.

I disagree. Take a look at the pinstripe at the color break below the windshield on the drivers side. It is wavy and sloppy. The stripe is probably there to make up for bad masking. The interior panels are horrendous. The panels don't fit right or line up. I am sure some money was spent but that looks like a pimp my ride effort.

It's 15,3 not 40K. However without knowing about all the mechanical systems it doesn't matter that much anyway.

IMHO - This is a hard bus to defend as "perfect" even at $15K.

On top of the obvious things like shaving the reflectors, front turn signals and reverse lights, cutting the arm off the middle seat, painting the steering wheel white, etc. which could all be argued as style issues....why would the owner cut the front 3 inches off the rain gutters? My guess, they were rusty so they got hacked off. The workmanship is marginal as evidenced by the wavy color break in the paint job, gaskets missing under the mirror bases, no vent in the front air intake, etc., etc.

It's not "perfect" and sure as hell is not worth $15K.

SOMEONE TEL FELIX THE CAT THAT vehicles only from 1975 and older are exemp not this 30 year shit or whatever. its unfortunate some think this.

Desertbusman Fri Jan 22, 2010 11:16 am

Yea, I wish the cutoff year was 1975. AZ is more like 1968. I can't imagine Arnie not taking the opportunity to rake in more money.

yeah i thought about that too, figuring there's gotta be at least one of us who gets divorced over our bus love, but then couldn't figure out why he'd be selling it if that was the case, lol.
