i don't know who they were but i was on a fishing trip 8 hours from home, in another province where i don't speek the language very well and when i pulled over to wait for my friend to get gas 2 busses pulled over to make sure i was ok!!!
the front bus was late 70's with an older bearded guy and his bus was covered with stickers and flowers and behind me was a gorgeous young girl (about my age!) in a late 60's early 70's green transporter i think (looking more at the girl)
anyway from what i could understand they saw oil on the ground back on the high way and they wanted to make sure it wasn't me! i couldn't believe it!!
he had a CB and radio'd some other people, there was some sort of VW camping weekend and he let them know where he was and that i was ok LOL
VW owners are awesome!!! i passed about 6 more that day, all smiling and waving!
THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING AWESOME! ; ) :D

quebec has a massive bus scene. one if their clubs, leswests, is surely one of, if not THE the largest bus club in north america.

http://www.leswests.qc.ca/

the fact that there is a significant language barrier means there's not much crossover between quebec bus owners and others, but that seems to be changing a bit. they also have nice forum site, monwest.com.

By your description it sounds to be Dansub and his daugther Isabelle! It was probably the first weekend of september coming back or going to our meeting in Lac St-Jean!

My PO had all the necessities to help someone on the other people under the seat, so I do, carrying on the spirit.

I've stopped to help about three people so far :D

c4l3b, it's a design I stole somewhere on the internet years ago, it's my itenerant mechanic logo, click on link under my signature (it's in french) This summer I painted it on the front of my bus!

Izzy, welcome to the samba, are you coming to Sutton this week-end?

Yann,
that's awesome, I had thought of putting the same logo on front of mine. got any pics of the whole bus where I can see the logo? I'm sure my buddies would get a kick out of it.

Yes we have 7 official meeting each year, there's two left, this coming week-end, we have à meeting at the Sutton Ski resort, 1h30 east of Montreal, and another one on the long week-end in october in L'iles Aux Coudre, an 1h30 north of Quebec City! We usually meet the 40 to 60 buses goal!

Well almost everybody from southern Qubec speak at least a little english, plus we used to have some guys from ON coming to each event, do you know Cory from Cornwall who now work and live in Manotick? His friend Todd who now is in Belleville?

i know cory pretty well. todd a little bit.

cory is a true VW dude. awesome mechanic and all-around cool guy. great guy to have a camp-out, good for some funny stories and he'll never refuse a beer.

That's for sure, this spring I bought his 85 Vanagon for my rental company, I remember those two guys coming to our meeting in Tadoussac early may in 2000, Cory with his Splitty and Todd with his red Squareback!
