| Does anyone have pics of their gas peddle, or should I say how it is mounted as the PO did some hack job on mine. Also, the linkage is binding and it just don't look correct either. If anyone has pics of the set up it would be appreciated. |

Side view. The pedal is mounted to the floor hinge by 2 bolts.
The wire was to test something in my engine just discard the hoopty looking wire.
Let me know if you have questions. |

Great pics, Hippopotabus. You can really see the installation well in them, but I'm not sure about those hitch pin clips. Unless they are a part of the differences Hazetguy mentioned, I think some little clip springs go there.
As a side note, I believe this is one of the parts protected most by the splash pan.
Enjoy!

I've had that in my bus for about 6 years now. Same one that was in my '71 in 1989 :-) |

Thanks and yea the pins and clips holding things together is a hoopty set up I did.... I just need to find the circular springs that go on.
And a big YES to the splash pan factor. Always always have the splash pan intact. |

| The pedal is not secured to the floor hinge with bolts. It's a pin with a spring in the middle to push the pedal back up. The hinge is welded to the floor. |

Part # 16 here is the pin that secures the pedal to the hinge.

Quote: hinge is welded to the floor
My hinge was once welded but now it's been bolted in place. The hinge itself has a bolt/rod that connects the pedal to the hinge piece. This allows the pedal to move up and down. Without the spring under the pedal the pedal should return because of the springs on your intake system. |

The top two pics are early and late Bay Window pedal assemblies. Show me the bolt. |

THE HINGE PIECE IS BOLTED TO MY FLOOR BOARD... Re-read my statement. MY HINGE IS BOOOOLTED TO MY FLOOOOOOOOOR BOARD. Who said anything about a friggin bolt.
The hinge piece has a bolt / rod / pin (or what ever they call it in upstate NY) which slides thru and connects the pedal to the hinge piece. Let me know if you need this broken down anymore. |

| Now I have a getter idea what it should look like. I thought I could rig stuff. The PO of hippie the bus has me beat. Nothing worse than getting the bus running and have to limp it home because the peddle/linage is FUBAR. Oh the fun of an old vehicle. And hippo.. Siemper Fi. |

Why, you did.

Direct from your response with the pics. I don't know any part of the country where a piece of metal with no threads is called a bolt. You said in fact, that the pedal was mounted to the floor hinge with two bolts See where I'm coming from now, or would you like it broken down anymore? |

Hey Gunny
This was fun. No worries PM me if you need more pics. But make sure you don't bolt the pedal to the floor. Sure glad we cleared that up.
And guy from Syracuse

I have a barefoot pedal. I cant get a good grip on the OG pedel. The small mount I cant get tight enough and it slides up and down.....
What did you use to attach yours. |
