I'm relocating the fuel filter out of the engine compartment and under the car. As a more durable replacement (against stones, rocks, flying road debris, etc.) can I use a square fuel injected fuel filter instead of the regular see-thru filter? This is on a '72 Super by-the-way.
Thanks in advance!!! :D |

| Damn, nothing like beating a dead horse. Do a search in this forum for Deutsch. It's a metal filter sold at Autozone. |

| Your 6mm lines will not fit the FI filter. The T-3 one is 8mm both ends, and the Bug FI is 8mm on one end and 10mm on the other. |

| So, I ran out and purchased a nice metal fuel filter and installed it. Since there were no "flow" markings on it, did it matter which way I installed it? :?: :?: |

well since there were no flow markings, i'd say no. did you blow into each end and feel air each way?
me personally i probably would of tested it outside the car with some fuel and a cup to see if it flowed both ways.
i've never seen one do that, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. |
