Please help, Just had my mechanic rebuild my 1700cc engine. Engine is running but very rich. My mechanic thinks we need to go with smaller secondary idle jets but before i keep throwing money at this project i want to ask. Below is what we currently have for jets in thes carb, its a webber center mount progressive 2 barrel (3236DFAV):
Air primary 165, air secondary 160, Primary main 137, secondary main 140, Primary idle ?(no # but larger then secondary idle), secondary idle 65.
I see redline make a jet kit for apx $70 but not sure if that will solve my problem. If anyone has any suggestions i would much appriceate any help. i only run my bus in the summer and live in the Syracuse, NY area. Bus is running so rich we are getting gas in the oil as it not burning up. |

you need to be sure your mechanic is knowledgeable when it comes to the progressive, otherwise it's just graspin' at straws kinda... here are two good sources to read up a bit on the progressive tuning technique...
