| I'm new to the game as it seems most people are who ask the questions. I have spent the last few days trying to get all the wires cleaned up in the engine compartment. The bus is a 74 bay riviera camper. I love it and so far it has been a whole lot of fun driving and fixing up. Well I took the VW test plug (T20) out because the old wires running to it and a bunch of knoted up junk wire around it. Everything was easy to just cut and put new terminals on, but there was a tan wire that ran from the T20 to front of the engine compartment. It connected to this black hard plastic cone shaped thing that went to the crankcase I think. I thought it was a nut of some kind so I turend it with pliers and it broke. The wire came out with it. It dosn't seem to cause any problems but I don't have a warm and fuzzy about it. Anybody been through this before that could explain if I did anything bad? |

Welcome, not sure where the brown wire went (brown is usually a ground), the black cone in the bellhousing was the TDC sensor for the VW diagnostic computer system, it's prettywell useless if you dont have the machine and the punchcard for your bus.
Don't lose sleep over it. |
