Hi
My '74 bay is quite happy shifting gears on the way up but i cannot change down from 4th to 3rd. I have to keep the clutch down, shift from 4th to 2nd and then go back up into 3rd, then let the clutch out. 3rd to 2nd is no problem. Any ideas what I need to do??
I am sure this has been covered a million times so if anyone has a link to a past thread please let me know.

For starters, crawl under your bus and see how your shift rod coupler looks. The other cuplrit(s) could be your shift rod bushings. Do a search on "sloppy shifting".

| The coupler can be replaced with the motor in but the bushings need to have the transmission/motor out. Good luck. |
