Hello,
I just joined this forum. It's great! I should introduce myself. I grew up in Albuquerque. My folks had a '74 bus and lugged me any my 2 brothers everywhere in the 70's and 80's. They sold the bus when I was out of town going to college. Bummer that they did. Anyway, the past few months I've been looking for a bus for my wife, son and I. Not a camper bus, just a regular bus. A neighbor down the street has one in her back yard and it is a '72 type II bus. It doesn't run, but the body is solid, good green paint/white top--a bit oxidized, but original and dent free and the inside is dusty, original and looks very nice. The tires are all flat as well. My wife and I have been talking to her about selling it, but she is holding onto it. I've been thinking about making her an offer, but wanted some possible advice about how much I should offer. I'm sorry that I don't have any pics, but would appreciate any information.

Thanks, Mike

hey Mike, what's happening. i see you've found the samba.
go to the bay window forum and do some looking in the sticky topics at the top. hard to say what it may be worth without pics or more info. do some looking in the classifieds to see what similar vehicles are listed at. also, maybe go to foreign aide (1800 san pedro NE) to see if they have any vehicles for sale or to look at their bulletin board (talk to Mike if you go there).
whatever you do, get something decent, preferably running, because bay engines can be expensive to rebuild/repair. and when you go camping, don't forget to bring as many stoves as you can fit under the rear seat.
