I have a '74 super conv. with a driver side door handle that no longer opens the door. It took a few attempts last week but finally would work. Now it can only be opened from the inside (which works fine).
Lever pulls but the latch never is released.
Any suggestions? |

I had a similar problem after swapoing doors on my 73 Super.
My friend Dave took a flat bladed screw drive and "bent" the "finger button" out so that when being depressed the inner workings would have more room to travel.

| You might also want to remove the door latch, clean and regrease it. |

| I had the exact same problem. It was a lack of lubrication. Take it out and regrease it. Mine works as good as new now. |

I took the handle off the door last night and found the lever on the inside (the one attached to the pull) was broken right off - fell out on the ground when the handle was removed. New handle is on the way from Mid America.
The lever may have broken because the latch was not well lubricated so I will also make sure it is lubricated.
Any other advice for installing a new handle?
Thanks. |

| That's not unusual for the inner part of the handle to break. Lubricate the latch anyway and replace the handle. |
