| My throw out bearing is going bad, and I don't know whether I should just buy the throwout bearing, or if I should go ahead and spend the extra money for a whole clutch kit. I was at the local vw parts store and they quoted the German kit at $270, and the the Brazilian kit at $240, which seems overly pricey to me. Can anyone recommend a kit (yet inexpensive) clutch kit for my 69? |

And maybe a kiss too. I found T/O, Pressure plate and clutch (Sachs) local in Memphis for $100.00 or so. |

This depends on how handy you are, if you're doing your own labor, and don't mind it. If so, and have no other clutch issues now, just replace the throw-out bearing, and I'd measure the clutch disc thickness while I was in there. |

| Do the whole thing. If you are going to take the time to drop the engine etc., just do it all while it is apart. |

| I agree, my time is not worth the $100.00 you'd spend on the parts. And I agree $240.00 is way too much to pay for parts alone but a hell of a good price if that is a price of a clutch installed! |

| I called another local parts shop and they have a complete (sachs) clutch kit for $110. I think I will go with that one! |
