| Will a later, like 73 standard, column fit a 71 standard beetle? I found one I was thinking about buying, but it doesn't look the same. Is it the same? Am I suffering from a mild case of drinking too much? |

| Yes the entire column will interchange but you cannot mix and match parts between the two years within the columns themselves and your '71 will wind up with an extra wiper switch and you'll have to re-wire using the 73's column plug connectors & ignition switch. |
