When i torque my case down the crank won't turn. If i just install the crank it turns fine or if i just install the cam it turns fine. If i get the case align-bored will that fix the problem? Do they bore the crank and the cam holes in the case? Also when i install the case savers do i just put lock-tight on them and were do i get the cap case savers. Thanks

Might need more info on what you actually did to your engine.

I bought some crappy non-German lifters and they stopped the engine from rotating when trying to turn it by hand. Turns out they didn't slide far enough into the lifter bores in the case (bad machining on the lifters) and bound up on the cam lobes. Found some different lifters and they worked fine.

Got a Bentley or Wilson book?

I'm assumning you are refering to a new case, if so; when I got my new case it was supposed to be "ready to go." The crank would lock up just as soon as I put the case together. Come to find out the case wasn't aligned bored all the way and the end journals were .010 '10 thousands to small. after align boring it went together very well. Its a 2180CC and is a very strong runner. That may be the problem.

Good luck, Burl

This is a used case. I'm just gonna have it align-bored. Do they do the cam and crank or just the crank?

Cam gear could be too big. That is what the numbers are on the back of the cam gear. +1, -2, etc.
You may have a +6 or something like that.
