I've got a '70 Standard which has the factory steering wheel that is roughly 15 3/4 inches across in diameter with a 2 1/2 inch grip circumference. These wheels are obviously thinner than modern thick ones. Most / all recent steering wheel cover designs are built for these new thicker wheels.
What's still available that fits our beloved Beetles?

I'd go with MA Motorworks. I got one from them, and although it doesn't match what originally came with the car (the fancy option on my 74 Super) it is a good looking cover.

Thanks to you both. The Mid America product is the Wheelskin.
I edited the orignal post to add the grip circumference which at 2.5 inches makes it the more affordable of the two offerings at MAM...lucky me.
That's really what I had in mind. I just needed your help to nail down the missing clues. |
