Hi Everyone,
I bought a 74 beetle that was being restored, Its about 85% done.
I was on the project to install the pedal assembly and route the clutch and accelerator cables.
PROBLEM is.
the engine was done up by Chico Performance and the transmission is a Rancho.
The transmission doesnt have the bracket to pull the brown cable sheeth back.
And I can find the hole to run the accelerator cable into the cavity behind the fan shroud leading into the transmission.
Any suggestion, anyone ever deal with this, I dont have picture nor have an idea on how this is suppose to make the transission from the engine to the body.
I know theres to TUBES,,,, Im haveing problem routing the fan shroud tube to the back as far as it goes. Is it suppose to get tucked under the rubber gasket????? Just doesnt seem right. Does anyone have a picture.
Thanks |

I put the car on jack stands, and pulled a huge chunck of carpet out.
Got the shop light out on a mission to figure something out.
Well i found the hole on the back side of the fan Shroud, It was hidden by the body gasket, I pushed the gasket up and BAM there was the throttle cable hole, about dead center above the trannie.. |

| good that you found it. If you can still get back there put a small hoseclamp around the tube thru the shroud. That will keep it from moving on you in the future trying to get a new cable thru |
