Oi mates! Vanfest is HUGE! if you want to overdose on everything to do with VW transporters, this would be the place. You simply cannot see it all, even in 4 days.
We arrived in our 74 westy, that we have been preparing 6 months in advance. It landed in the UK just 1 week before we arrived.
Fuel in the UK is outrageous! you think we have it bad? Try $125 to fill up!
Weather in the UK has been horrible this year, and it didn't stop for the show. We must have had about 3" of rain friday night which made for a lot of stuck vans. Nearly everybody was sporting "wellingtons" which is what the brits call rubber boots.
So many people to meet and talk to that share the passion that it just makes you dizzy!
The swap meet was the most impressive collection of rare bits I've seen in one spot. I managed to score a few things. An NOS set of postal flares, some Tristar sliders... and more.
Enjoy the pics,

Eric

I have three "prototypes" here right now. I should have the final versions for sale very soon. By the way, these are the thin, upper grill spoiler, not the huge ones.

Yes-Vanfest does rock!

If any of you are planning to visit the UK make sure you plan it around Vanfest. Its HUUGGGEEE!

I got bitten by the Karmenn bug this year. I may have a new van by the end of the weekend. Watch this space.................

Holy crap! What a small world. I was drooling over this post just the other day and what do I spot in the local book store this evening? This very bus on the cover of the September issue of "Volks World Camper and Bus" The owners name is Thor Anson...or was, I notice there's a for sale sign on the door in one of the photos. SUPER cool bus though. It actually got a 6 page spread and a center fold shot in the magazine.

The article says she's got 250bhp! Um...and yea it also mentioned the stock breaks. Yikes.
