| My boy wrecked his 71 Super this winter. In addition to some body mangling, he apparently bent the frame. The local alignment shop said that they can't align it until the frame is straightened. It drives fine but it does show wear on the right rear tire. I called a few places and they acted as if they didn't know how to align a bug. Suggestions? |

If the pan (what you are calling the frame) is tweaked, it sounds like the body needs to come off the pan. Then you can assess if it's worth the effort to save.
Of course it could just be some suspension components are bent / damaged. I can't tell from here. :?
But if the local shops are already telling you they can't fix it...
PS: A lot of shops these days just don't want to work on an old bug. So even if they could, they'll say they can't.

Don't take it to a body shop. Take it to a frame shop where all they do is fix the structure and suspension of a car. Body shops don't generally have a good grip on actual frame work
Don't know where you live, but www.precisionframe.com does that kind of work. |
