Possiblity that someone could trace the plate to an address that is the location of the car or the identity of the owner. The internet is a wealth of peoples personal info. |

Tracing is not really a good reason - I dive my bug around and anyone could just take a note of the number.
People used pictures of another car I had for sale for bogus sale ads - and I feel, obscuring the plate number makes such misuse harder (just ask the buyer for the plate number on a car to run some check on it and here has already a problem). |

It's a good enough reason for me. I always blur my Lisc plate. Putting a picture on the internet is not he same thing as driving around town. If someone lives near your location, what better way to find a car worth stealing ?
If you want to know the cars history you should run the Vin number anyway. No need to run a Tag number. |

Yeah - it is really great up there. Unfortunately you cannot go to Wrightwood anymore (part of the mountain came down with the heavy rains 3 years ago). But Newcombs - the bar/restaurant up there - is always a cool hang-out. |
