I don't know if anyones actually seen this tin, but here it is. I would suggest buying this tin it fits very well. In the next few days i will post a picture with it in my bus.

so do you have to drill you own fresh air tube holes? or is that the tin that sits in side of there? i can't think off the top of my head it's getting late!

Hey guys, Yesterday i finally got around to installing my engine and the Tin! Fits great in the bus and looks really good too. I did have to trim a few areas and drill a few holes but nothing major. I am having a problem with my accelerator cable tho, its short about 3 inches. Ive tried a cable for a 1972 and a cable for a 1970 and there both short. If any one can help that would be great.

(Before anyone says anything about the tape, it's temporary. I wanted to drive it around the yard)

why does your engine compartment look so much neater and bigger than mine?...
looks great. if i ever need to replace my tin, ill go with that.

From my understanding, this is an upright engine conversion tin kit? I may have missed it earlier in the post, but isn't that why the engine compartment looks so cavernous?

The lighter colors in there for one will make the compartment look larger and will define where the engine is more-so. That in turn gives the illusion of being larger.

looks nice man... did you have to put a support bar underneath the motor or is it mounted just to the tranny?

you may have to get the accelerator cable extender. the cable's length was made for a pancake for that year...

did you have to cut off any of the input shaft on the tranny? I am going to be doing this as well in the next month or so... how is the pickup?

Thanks every one!! Hey magnus0328, I didn't have to cut the end of the trans shaft. The guy at creative car craft told me that you didn't have to shave it down if the bus was under a 1974. i guess there was a different transmission in the later years. Also i didnt need to put the mustache bar in because my transmission has a top mount.

My engine compartment was very dirty and a greyish/black color so i painted it white for that exact reason, for a cleaner look

what year is your bus? if the foil tape keeps the temp normal, I would just leave it... home depot has a seal that goes on the bottom of a garage door that might work... it is 9.00 for a 9 foot piece...

That top transmission mount was not intended to support the engine and transmission on its own. you need to fab up some type of mustache bar to support the front of the engine.

Yea I've heard of people using the Garage door seal, and i guess it worked for them. I Just kinda think that $60 for a foam seal doesn't make sense. If the tape doesn't work ill try the garage Door seal. I doubled up on the tape top and bottom of the tin so i think it will work. Thanks for the heads up
By the way my bus is a 1972!

The tin looks great,,, I've yet to see a price,,,,, why is the motor sitting lower on the right side

I love the " RARE INDUSTRIAL" so they jack the tag all the way up to $49.. shit that thing cost 49 $ when it wasn't rare...now find all the pieces to the tail pipe...

I gave a complete tail pipe setup to a friend.. years ago... he never used it and since got out of Buses,, now he can't find it ... LOL.

Yea i paid 189 Plus shipping which came to $220. I could of made a piece but it would be no where near as nice. I don't know about the RARE INDUSTRIAL muffler, is it really rare? Where could i find a tip for this? As for the engine, i have no idea why the engine is lower on the one side????
