A lot of folks posting wanting help are short on giving information. This makes it difficult for others to be effective in the advice and instructions they give.

So if you are asking for help, here's a few guide lines to help you get the help you need.

First, in your avatar, give your location! There may be someone just a few hundred feet away from where you are that would be willing and able to come help you. Also, in some instances, geographic location plays a part in tuning specs and parts availability. So let us know where you are.

Second, if the car is stock, tell us. If not, tell us what modifications have been made. Even if you don't think its relevant, tell us anyway because it may have an effect on the problem you are having. After all, if you knew the answers, you wouldn't be asking for help.

Third, Give us a year! Things changed and even in the forum layout that you are posting, changes were made. It helps us to know what year your car is.

Fourth, give us some history! On the car and the trouble you are having. Things that happened in the past are relevant to whats going on now. If you don't give a complete picture, we are just left guessing.

Thats about all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there are more. Just give as much info as you can and in return you'll get more effective responses.

Fifth, if possible include pictures in your inquiry.

Take the time to spell and write correctly. Sloppy English and spelling won't get you very good results either. Don't use Internet shorthand or some teenage text message lingo. Us old people don't understand it. If I can't read your question, I can't help solve your problem.

If your live in another country let us know. I'll take the time to sort through badly written questions and spelling errors if I know English may not be your primary language.

Don't post a stupid thread title like "Help," especially in all capital letters. Use something descriptive.

Sure, not that people read the stickies.
