No reason not to post it!
Looks great and I really like how it shines like original paint
instead of a new car.
Whats the secret on that?

volksfahrer.nl Fri Nov 28, 2008 11:46 am

I guess SWR would be a no-no for a 66 panel?
I'm trying to find a nice color for my panel and this
would be a sort of an hommage to the original fire-bus red. (I said sort of  )

sled Fri Nov 28, 2008 12:23 pm

yes, swr on a 66 would be a big no no.

why not paint it firetruck red?

wouldnt that include red bumpers as well? I think fire panels look awesome.

slow36hp Fri Nov 28, 2008 12:54 pm

couldnt swr red be optioned as a special order paint the same way the firetruck red would have been

slow36hp Fri Nov 28, 2008 12:59 pm

looks like 65 was the cutoff for it as a option however same page shows swr and grey option till 66 so the answer has to be maybe

I don't like the original red.
SWR is way nicer.
The bumpers and wheels where originaly black on my panel.

Somewhere under all that oxidation is sealing wax red. (Ithink....)

lurkinstock Sun Nov 30, 2008 6:15 pm

my 59 swr scab

ricekooker Tue Dec 09, 2008 8:46 pm

Too bad this one is in the shape it's in. How many SWR pressed bumper walk thru panels with safaris are out there?

Ian Tue Dec 09, 2008 8:59 pm

That is an EARLY walkthrough.

sled Tue Dec 09, 2008 11:17 pm

thats not a SWR bus...my guess is fire red. It is too early to be SWR. It would have to be a july/august bus, which it is earlier than that.

What do you see that makes it earlier than July/August? Just curious
