| I have a type 1 pan that I want to use, i dont have a title with it, How do I check to see if it is in the dmv system, and can i fill out for a lost title to get one or what do i do? |

NCDMV will not release the last owner of the car just because you have a number. The numbers would most likely be archived if its more than 10 years out of the system. If the last owner was out of state they can not access any information for it.
You would then need to inquire at your local NC License Plate Office about a bonded title. That office will refer you to the License and Theft Bureau and an agent to help you with the process. The car will need to be a mostly complete driveable appearing car. It is the easiest way to go in N.C.... UNLESS you actually know the owner of the .....car (chassis). Then you could proceed with a lost title form.
Its a BIG hassell in NC without a title of any kind, but its possible to aquire if you're willing to spend the time and money. |
