I have an opportunity to buy a running diesel engine that came out of a jetta for very little $$ but I am not too sure what min requirements for vanagons is regarding diesels.
What size diesel engines are other people running in their vanagons?
Right now I have a Tiico and it runs fine, but I am thinking about a future replacement.
Any help is appreciated....

I am installing a 1Z 1.9 L TDI from a '96 European Golf. I wouldn't install any thing with less power than a 1.9 AAZ TD.

There were quite a few different diesel engines installed in Jettas, with incredible differences in power. Any more specifics?
