In advance, a big thanks to all for the information I've received as a long time lurker.
After a less than impressive ebay purchase, I need to replace the pan under my 68 baja.
I've been keeping regular watch for about two months now and have finally found a 74 standard in my area. Its a rolling chassis with some small rust(expected) and unmodified. Complete front and rear minus engine. I have an L/P front end to install(understand that mods are needed). No idea about the interior other than the metal is good.
If its a "standard" beetle, is the front body mount still different from my 68 body?
Other than the front body mount, is there any diffences I should be aware of?
Any trouble spots I should look for pertaining to that year-range pan?
Is the IRS the same across the board or are there any differences between the standard and super years?
Plan is to take the goods on my baja and mate them to the replacement.
Thanks for the help,

| 73 changed the trans mount. It's heavier. You can change the nose cone on an older tranny if nessisary there the same bolt pattern. 71 to 74 use the same spring plates and related parts. 68 may have a diferent height on the rear body mount also. |
